Hi yes it's me being Extra for Egypt again. Surprise, I'm a super nerd (this is surprising to no one). @charlesclary got me this amazing @goodywoody.com.pl rolling pin for Christmas, and my students learned the difference between hieroglyphs and hieroglyphic this week, so hopefully these will help them continue to remember that lesson. Also these are delicious with tea from my Rosetta Stone mug from the @britishmuseum giftshop and the Papyrus (of Ani?) Book of the dead tea towel. #ClaryFarmhouse

It is time for #52WeeksOfHome! This is quickly becoming my favorite hashtag this year. This week for #52WeeksOfHomeWeek4 we have Best and Worst features. Mine are all about the combos... there isnt really a worst feature of this home, and things I love have things I might change if I had time and money. First, the #BestFeatures: 🔥4 beautiful fireplaces 🕶The LIGHTING in this house - huge windows let in lots of light 🚪The internal doors throughout! I hate open plan. Closed off and compartmentalized is where it is at (lol @ my emotions) 📶The stairs! The posts and bannister!! 🌲those heart pine floors and all that beadboard!!!! 🐕 that dog #HarryClary doing a catwalk modeling of it all Now the #WorstFeature contrast: 🔥fireplaces are all enclosed 😭 🕶 it is bright and those windows also let in chilly air (it is 55° in here now) 🚪 the doors dont have a negative. I love them. They keep warmth in. 📶 the posts, beadboard, doors, et al are painted white. It is so white here. I don't hate it, but I do wish they'd left more natural wood. 🌲 the floors are scratched but I love it because this place will be 106 next month and it shows the history 🐕 it is cold so my dog gets to wear handsome sweaters and is extra cuddly. Cant wait to see everyone else's Best and Worst! I'm getting so many good ideas (gonna paint my kitchen cabinets next!) #ClaryFarmhouse #oldhouselove #farmhouselife #edwardian (barely by mere months but I'm claiming it)

Today's Tom Sawyer, mean, mean, pride in my fence painting skills! Sadly there was no one around to convince how fun it would be to whitewash this fence for me, but the paint sprayer turned out to be quite fun! One side done, one to go. #52weeksofhome want to learn? Accomplished. #ClaryFarmhouse #diy #oldhouselove

Combining #52weeksofhome weeks 1 and 2 with this post! This week we are finishing off the white picket fence around the #ClaryFarmhouse. @charlesclary is a master fencer and posthole digger. I fetched things and stayed out of the way... for #52WeeksofHomeWeek1 I am learning to use a paint sprayer on this sucker this weekend. For #52WeeksOfHomeWeek2, here is one of our entry ways! I put a creepy wreath on the gate, and I love the little lamp by the front gate as well. Cant wait to share the front porch when I have it decorated, and the front entry hall, which was a major selling point of this home for me.
